What I'm Working on
January 1, 2026

Happy New Year, and welcome to Solais' Inaugural Blog Post!
Recently, I had cut out a couple of panels in the hopes of making a zip-up pencil case, but forgot to add seam allowance (classic!).
I am still trying to find methods of patternmaking that suit me best.
So far, the pieces I'm most proud of have been cases just like this — specifically in the case of my blue goatskin tarot pouch. It was supposed to be a wallet, but i wasnt crazy about the overall shape once I dry-fitted all the pieces, so it became a pouch. Ironically enough, this pencil case is about to become a wallet.

Past Projects

Taking the time to gather some photos of past projects for this site, and came across these two close-ups of my blue oracle case and my jornal cover. Sometimes I delete photos straight away when i'm reviewing them in-camera, and It's only when I blow them up on a monitor when I really see their potential!

At least, that was the case with the first pic, as for this one: I liked that right away!! Used a Sony A6000 for these with a stock lens. Inspired by other Neocities sites i've seen, I would like to eventually make an index of my cameras Unfortunately I am very bad at taking progress pics, but I am working on that. \m/.
Also have a pic of my 2nd ever project from a couple years ago - a cardholder made with the same type of goatskin as the oracle case. The Stitching in some places was way too tight, as you can see, the leather begins to pucker and the stitching becomes tucked away. Not Pictured is the opposite side, where the pockets are misaligned completely!
